The name comes from the Japanese word hori which means dig and is widely used by gardeners in Japan.The unique curved blade works like a trowel, knife and saw depending on the required task and is perfect for digging planting holes, planting in beds, borders and pots as well as in woodland areas and for planting bulbs. The serrated and smooth edges can cut through roots and are effective for splitting or dividing perennial plants while transplanting is easy with the metric and inch depth markings on the blade.
